Cristina Lambert, MA, LMHCA
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
(253) 777-1997 | [email protected]
I have a heart for people. As a Christian counselor, my hope is to walk alongside teens, adult individuals, couples, and families in their healing journeys, offering both compassion and clinical expertise through the lens of faith. My desire is for all people to know God and live a life full of joy. This world can be a dark and difficult place, but I hold onto the hope that is set before us in Christ. It would be a joy to walk alongside you as you journey along this hard and narrow path, with God’s grace and direction.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal as a counselor is to enhance the lives of others by pointing them to Christ while integrating principles from psychology. “Apply your heart to instruction and your ear to words of knowledge” (Proverbs 23:12). Through our time together, my hope is for you to gain instruction and insight from evidence-based practices and the integration of those practices with the truth that God has given us in His Word.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a professional, welcoming, serene environment where we can collaborate to take steps toward restoring your overall well-being – mentally, relationally, emotionally, and spiritually. In our sessions, I will integrate faith-based models with evidence-based practices to help you reach your goals and experience the healing and growth you desire.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
As a Christian counselor, I believe the benefits of faith-based therapy are paramount because God is our true healer and physician. He is the one who created us, and therefore, He is the one who knows how to best approach our hurting hearts. My faith grounds me in the belief that every person has inherent worth and purpose, and my goal is to create a space where clients can experience both emotional healing and spiritual growth.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a Master’s degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Colorado State University. I am also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level I) and I completed the Story Sage training from The Allender Center.
My Call to Christian Counseling
Growing up as a military kid and now as a military wife, I have a love for soldiers and their families. I resonate with many of the struggles and issues associated with military family life, and wanted to be able to support those in similar situations. I also decided to pursue a career in counseling after my own family had a redeeming and life-changing experience with family therapy.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I consider myself a watercolor artist, and I also have a love for classic cursive and calligraphy.

Women’s Issues
As a woman, I can resonate with many issues you may be experiencing in our culture today. Womanhood is not only being twisted and torn apart from many angles; it is being erased in many ways, as well. My goal is to help guide you to become the woman God made you to be. Motherhood is another aspect of womanhood that can be extremely challenging in today’s culture, and my hope is to empower you with the truths of Christ regarding how to live out that calling with joy and peace.
Anxiety
My goal as your counselor is to show you the tools that God has given all of us to battle anxiety and help you put it in the place it was always meant to be. In our sessions, I will integrate Emotionally Focused Theory to deal with the emotions you have revolving around anxiety and the many ways you feel like anxiety is holding you back.
Sexual Abuse
In his book, Healing the Wounded Heart, Dan Allender states that, “In reality, our day is vastly more adversarial, opportunistic, shallow, and violent than ever before. Abuse often creates a twenty-eight-car pileup with massive debris, bent metal, and wounded victims. It spirals into generations. It sinks into the depths of the heart.” Then he offers hope by saying, “Engag[ing] in this scourge with the hope that what God has begun he is faithful to bring to completion. He will bring about passionate, holy delight in sexuality, and in his design for sex he will draw our hearts into the depths of wonder and gratitude and, ultimately, to the worship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is to this end that we proceed.” Using Allender’s theory, which is closely related to Narrative theory, I would work with you to rewrite what has been sourly written in your life’s story, to rewrite what has been blotted, and to empower you to continue to write your story and weave God’s hope into it.
Spiritual Development
The subject of spiritual development is rarely spoken about. My goal as your counselor in this area is to integrate evidence-based practices alongside the spiritual disciplines that much of our Christian society has lost. Subjects including prayer, solitude, silence, discipleship, spiritual growth, and more are often easily integrated with common health practices. Our tech-heavy culture is hungry for a spiritual revival, and my hope is to lead and guide you to reach your spiritual goals.
Couples Counseling
As Gottman has so famously said, “Successful long-term relationships are created through small words, small gestures, and small acts.” My goal in couples counseling would be to integrate many of Gottman’s principles to enhance your marriage. I believe that there is hope for all marriages, even when you feel the most dire. I believe that with the help of God, there is a path to a sustaining and loving marriage.
